Hi there! My name is Carmen and I'm excited to share a little bit about myself with you.
I was born and raised by my Swiss parents in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and grew up in a culturally rich environment that piqued my curiosity and love for the arts.
At the age of 10, I knew that I wanted to become a designer, and I worked hard to pursue this ambition. I completed my education at an English-Spanish bilingual school before attending UADE (Facultad de Arquitectura & Diseño) for my bachelor's degree in Fashion and Textile Design, which I received in 2017.
After graduation, I moved to Lima, Peru, to work for the local haute couture brand 'Carlos Vigil,' where I gained invaluable experience as the designer's right hand. The collection we developed was presented at the MALI museum in Lima and received high praise from the local press and fashion industry.
Upon returning to Argentina, I was recruited by Gaucho Buenos Aires, a then-emerging brand that has since grown internationally. I worked as their ready-to-wear designer and collaborated in the creation of the brand's identity. We presented our collections at both Buenos Aires and New York Fashion Week and were featured in numerous well-known magazines, including Marie Claire, L'Officiel, and Forbes Mgz.
I always thought that one of the best things one can do is to continue studying and building one's formation. That is why I've furthered my education by doing courses on Fashion Sustainability, Fashion Art Direction, Fashion Product Management (IED Barcelona), and a Postgraduate in Trends Research & Strategic Thinking (LCI Barcelona)
I'm currently living in Barcelona, a stimulating and beautiful city with an incredibly rich culture that compliments my personality, as I describe myself as someone who thrives on new and mixed experiences. Above all, I would say that I'm an extremely curious person with a love for challenges! My insatiable thirst for knowledge and admiration for design and art fuel my work as I strive to communicate compelling stories.
